Feral Golf Co.
Nov 2025 - Present
Context
Golf ferrules - the small decorative/functional collar between a club’s shaft and head - are almost always an afterthought: a stock plastic ring in a handful of stock colors. Feral Golf Co. started from a simple bet: a distinctive, personalized ferrule could be a real product category on its own, not an accessory. I co-founded the company, based in Venice, CA, to build it.
What I built / did
- Product & manufacturing: developed the KYRO line of 3D-printed performance ferrules using PA12 MJF (Multi Jet Fusion) printing - now patent-pending.
- Engineering validation: commissioned a modal analysis study through a top sports science lab to validate KYRO’s engineered vibration signature - a real, independently-verified engineering claim rather than marketing language.
- Retail & partnerships: negotiated partnership conversations with top OEMs; secured 2026 SCGA advertising placements (digital newsletter and FORE Magazine print).
- Brand & content: led brand positioning end to end and ran a full brand film production - managing crew deal memos, casting, and shot lists - including a product photo/video shoot at Pelican Hill.
- Growth: built and ran the brand’s Meta and Google paid acquisition programs from scratch.
Feral Design Studio
I designed and built Feral Design Studio from scratch: a live, custom Three.js 3D product configurator running directly on the Shopify storefront. Customers drag, rotate, and zoom a fully rendered ferrule - choosing from a library of pattern designs or uploading their own artwork - and see the exact result on the club before they order. It’s not a mockup tool or a static color picker; it’s a real-time rendering pipeline wired straight into checkout, and it’s the single biggest driver of on-site engagement and conversion confidence for a product category people had never been able to customize before.
